The exemption from stamp duty for the majority of first time buyers was considered radical when it was announced in the budget, but months on it seems the effects are being seen. According to the statistics three quarters of first time buyers since the policy was announced have benefitted directly from this change.

In a time of rising house prices and increased demand, all efforts that are taken in order to help first time buyers to get their feet on the first rung of the ladder have been welcomed and it seems that this is something which is working to high success.
